π― Drum Tower Β· test 1 of 1
Can it hear you?
This is not the app. It is the one question the app is standing on: can a tablet microphone hear a practice pad well enough to time it against a click? Play for thirty seconds and find out.
1. Set it up
Floor 1 of the tower.
Turn it up if it hears hits you did not play. Turn it down if it misses the quiet second stroke of your doubles.
π Volume low, pad close. You are not wearing headphones, so the microphone hears the click as well as you. Keep the click just loud enough to follow.
2. Play
Nothing running.
3. The verdict
- Hits heard
- β
- Hits expected
- β
- Tightness
- β
- Device delay
- β
Play a run and this will tell you what it means.
What the numbers mean
- Tightness is the real score β how far your hits sit from your own middle. Under 25ms is what your teacher means by βyou cannot hear the clickβ.
- Device delay is not you. A microphone and a speaker both take time, so every hit arrives a little late. The app measures that delay and takes it off, which is why tightness is judged after it is removed.
- Hits heard vs expected is the one that decides everything. If they match, the tower can be built. If the mic hears half your doubles, it cannot β and finding that out today is the whole point of this page.
